چکیده
Rectal prolapse is a debilitating condition that often presents concurrently with pelvic organ (POP), but the usefulness of MRI volumes in women symptomatic rectal not well understood. Our aims were to determine clinically useful technique measure POP volume (vPOP) patients via MR defecography utilizing an estimated levator ani subtended formula (eLASV) could assist predicting patients, need for surgery, and vaginal stage. We also looked establish optimal eLASV cutoff value aid distinguishing high vs low vPOP would predict progression clinical intervention POP. This retrospective cohort study evaluated from 2017-2022 at Stanford University. Patients complaints POP-Q categorized as then subdivided by hysterectomy status creating 4 subgroups: w/ (SH), asymptomatic (AH), uterus (SU), (AU). Standard measurements obtained rest strain (Figures 1 & 2). was calculated each subject (eLASV-R) (eLASV-S) previously published equation: vPOP= -72.838+(0/598 x H-line)+(1.217 M-line)+(1.136 WLH). eLASV-R eLASV-S multivariable regression analysis predictability POP, surgery An distinguish between Youden’s index. Correlations of anatomical parameters in dynamic pelvic CT and conventional defecography for patients with rectal prolapse.
PURPOSE To evaluate the correlations of anatomical parameters between dynamic pelvic CT (D-PCT) and conventional defecography (CD) for patients with rectal prolapse. MATERIAL AND METHODS Anatomical parameters in multislice CT scanning of the pelvis performed at rest and during simulated defecation (D-PCT) were studied with those of CD to evaluate the correlations in both methods for 10 patien...
متن کاملPelvic organ prolapse.
Pelvic organ prolapse, or genital prolapse, is the descent of one or more of the pelvic structures (bladder, uterus, vagina) from the normal anatomic location toward or through the vaginal opening. Women of all ages may be affected, although pelvic organ prolapse is more common in older women. The cause is a loss of pelvic support from multiple factors, including direct injury to the levator an...

The separate disease entities that are included in the general term of pelvic organ prolapse have been discussed in detail in this chapter. The focus of discussion centered on the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of these conditions. At this point, the emergency physician should be able to properly recognize, assess, initiate treatment, and obtain appropriate referral in cases of pelvi...
متن کاملRe: Sexual function in women with pelvic organ prolapse compared to women without pelvic organ prolapse.
PURPOSE We compared sexual function in women with pelvic organ prolapse to that in women without prolapse. MATERIALS AND METHODS We collected sexual function data using a standardized, validated, condition specific questionnaire. The study group consisted of 30 women with pelvic organ prolapse and it was compared with 30 unmatched controls without evidence of prolapse. RESULTS The 2 groups ...
متن کاملPathophysiology of pelvic organ prolapse.
The pathophysiology of pelvic organ prolapse is believed to be multifactorial. Several risk factors, such as childbirth and aging, have been identified. Suspected aberrations in the structure and function of the connective tissue, muscles, and nerves of the pelvic floor are still under investigation. In this article, the cellular, biochemical, and molecular basis of pelvic organ prolapse is dis...
